Basant Utsav

PTU Learning Centre at Lally Infosys Puran Road , Jalandhar cantt organized a Basant Utsav on 28th Jan 2012 to celebrate Basant Panchami. This day is the beginning of Spring Season, which is celebrated in honor of Goddess Saraswati. In this event various Competitions like – Kite Flying, Stage Decorations were held, along with some Guest items like Gidha, Bhangra, Solo Song, Mimicry, Solo Dance etc to delight the event. The prizes were distributed by Mr. S S.Lally(M.D of Lally Infosys),Ms Davinder Kaur Dhillon(Centre Head),Savitri Sharma and Mr. Brij Mohan of N.D.Victor School to the winners Parasvir singh, Naveen, Seema, Daljit,Reeta, Suman, Khushbu, Nirmala, Baljeet, Kamini. On the occasion Mr. Lally said be a human and look after the society and environment stay with our rich culture and keep celebrating our traditional festivals instead of following the western culture.







Lally Infosys regional centre PTU,BMC Chowk Jal. celebrated the festival of Basant Panchami by organizing a "Basant Mela 2012" .A Kite flying competition was organized in the centre.Almost 200 students participated in the competition. The vast blue sky filled with kites of different shapes, vibrant colors and unique sizes.Almost all the students were dressed in yellow and yellow colored sweet rice were distributed to all the students of the institute. On this occasion,S.S Lally(MD) Lally Infosys told the students the importance of this festival and significance of Yellow color.He said that the color yellow is the predominant color associated with the festival, the origins of which are supposed to be the fields of mustard which can be seen in Punjab and Haryana during this period. Kite flying is associated with this festival and children as well as adults fly kites on this day to celebrate freedom and enjoyment. In the competition Nikhil Garg stood first , Ajay Kumar stood second and Mohit Juneja stood third Heena Srivastva won the prize for Biggest kite and Kamalpreet Kaur won the prize for unique kite.
